About the artist
Kim Francis was born in 1974 and studied at London's Central St Martins College of Art, graduating in 1998 with an honours Batchelor of Art degree in jewellery.
Since graduating her work has grown in scale and moved from jewellery toward sculpture.
Through her work in foundries she learnt bronze casting skills, and continues to develop her carving skills in wood and stone, Most of her stone pieces are achieved through direct carving, whilst others are modelled on clay maquettes.
Most recently Kim has been spending time in Italy exploring marble carving.
